Forge Europa builds its product range based upon a detailed
knowledge of the design parameters and constraints of each
LED system. Success depends on so many factors, including
die selection, leadframe and packaging, circuit board design
and application.

We understand the whole process, from wafer fabrication right
up to the performance and aesthetic impact of the final product.
Rigorous testing is essential to provide the best for our
customers. So we've developed our Life Test Laboratory - one
of Europe's most comprehensive in-house optoelectronic test
and measurement facilities.

LED Test & Measurement Laboratory
At its heart is a custom-built automated LED test and measurement
system. This simultaneously logs Iv, Ir, ,
and
chromaticity, as well as plotting a host of other functions.
Already we can generate more than 8 million hours of real-time
test data each year.

We accurately measure LED junction temperature for different
substrates, packages, modules and drive parameters, including
pulse drives at various frequencies. Junction temperature
influences luminous flux, lifetime, colour shift and efficacy,
and is crucial when developing powerchip and RGB full colour
modules.

This unique facility also measures spatial distribution and
total luminous flux of discrete LEDs with great precision,
as well as the intensity in cd/m² of LED displays and
cluster assemblies. The Life Test Laboratory provides vital
information for a design team committed to total quality.

Junction Temperature Test Equipment
Elevated junction temperature has a detrimental effect on
the long term performance of an LED and the ability to measure
this parameter is therefore crucial to the design process.

We are able to accurately measure junction temperature rise
for discrete components and also LEDs mounted in application,
eliminating the guesswork normally associated with assessing
the cumulative affects of all other temperature defining factors.

Life Testing
We are pleased to have at our disposal one of Europe's most
comprehensive in-house optoelectronic test and measurement
facilities. An extensive racking system combined with automated
measurement permits a large range of LED package types to
be tested simultaneously.

The Life Test programme provides vital information for a design
team committed to total quality.

Elevated Temperature Test Equipment
Our customised facility permits elevated temperature testing
between 0 and 250°C and includes automatic temperature
profiling.
