The XR series sets new benchmarks for LED lighting
with the XR-E White being the most efficient white power
LED available today. All devices are supplied in a rugged
7 x 9 mm package which is capable of
being reflow soldered.
The XR are dual current rated and can be driven
at 350mA or 700mA. The XR-E Blue range can be driven
up to 700mA with the XR-E White is rated for drive
currents up to 1000mA.
The XR-C has typical luminous flux levels of 25
lumens at 125mA, 60 lumens at 350mA and 78 lumens
at 500mA.
The XR-E White features the latest EZbright
1000 LED chip from Cree. Typical efficiency is 70lm / W
with luminous flux levels of 80 lumens at 350mA,
136 lumens at 700mA and 176 lumens at 1000mA.
The XR-E White also has vastly improved color uniformity
now that Cree has started to use a different phosphor
process to deposit a thin, uniform layer of material
directly onto the chip surface. The added benefit
of this is that it also has a small source size
helping to keep the size of secondary optics to
a minimum.
These LEDs are achieving efficacy levels previously
only available from traditional efficient light
sources such as fluorescent bulbs, making them ideal
for any general lighting application.
Key features of these components include:
