XLamp XB-D – A new ultra-compact LED component
Published: 12 January 2012 at 19:52
As a market leader in the manufacture of cutting-edge LED technology Cree has introduced a new innovative LED component, XLamp XB-D, which offers a breakthrough in price vs. performance for lighting-class LEDs.
XLamp XB-D delivers up to 139 lumens and 136 lumens per Watt in cool white (6000K) or up to 107 lumens and 105 lumens per Watt in warm white (3000K) from its 2.45mm x 2.45mm footprint at 350 mA and 85°C; making the XB-D ideal for lighting applications where high lumen density and compact light sources are required.
“XLamp XB-D can deliver cost significant cost savings for lighting manufacturers who take an aggressive approach to the application of XB-D. The smaller footprint and high-performance characteristics of the device can translate into smaller PCB designs, with a lower overall component count in terms of both LEDs and secondary optics” says Andrew Tomlinson, Technical Sales Support at Forge Europa.
