Forge Europa Achieves Gold Award for Excellent Environmental
Practice
Forge Europa, is delighted to announce that its team has been
awarded the top level environmental gold award through Cumbria
Business Environment Network (CBEN). This award is only achieved
by companies who have reached a level of excellence in identifying
environmental risks, who have put into place procedures to manage
their potential impacts and who plan for continued improvement
in environmental performance.
Forge Europa has long been committed to excellent environmental
practice. The Ulverston based firm is a knowledge-based international
design, development and manufacturing company focused on innovation
in the LED optoelectronics and lighting markets.
The company works closely with Cambridge and Brunel Universities
through two DTI funded initiatives to design new products
and improve existing ones by making things smaller, brighter,
stronger or more energy efficient. The SPLED product range
for instance offers LED bulb replacements, which use only
10% of the energy required by the normal incandescent bulbs
they are replacing.
Forge's eco-friendly products are designed to operate under
severe environmental conditions such as automotive and electronic
sign applications and yet can last up to 100 times longer
than other more traditional light sources.
Forge Europa however is proud that the company's concern for
excellent environmental performance is not just based on its
product ranges but extends beyond to run through every aspect
of its operations and the CBEN Gold award is a welcome recognition
of this.
